thoughts and questions about assignment 3

so, i've pretty mcuh decided that i'm going to make a non-functioning prototype, so some fancy screenshots of my Lego-Digital-Designer-esque Gundam customiser. I have never been more glad that chose the same subject matter for my 3D modelling assignment last year!

the way i am going to do this is reuse the Maya model i made last year, take screenshots of me tweaking some of the edit points, and changing colours and textures, etc. and photoshop them to look like screens of my application. If i have the time, i may present it in website format promoting it as a product rather than have the site as the product (as i've already mentioned, external application is the way to go!)

so... if i understand it correctly, the assignment is basically to document and storyboard the steps to customisation and discussion of the generative systems that are supposed to be in place yeah? which is basically what we were doing for assignment 2.

i suppose my question is - just like the problem i had with assignment 2 - what should be the real focus of the protoype and how far do i take it? cos i had heaps of components and stuff planned in the second assignment, but only really ended up focussing on the geometry (customising parts) and the markings. like, do i make screenshots illustrating the steps for just the generative parts, or do i make them for other features even if they're not generative?

In answer to your last question Mandy, focus on the generative parts. Those are the parts that we're most interested in exploring the potential of in the context of this class and should give you plenty of opportunity for you to give a sense of the user experience.
