LAB QUESTIONS
1. Why do you find it interesting? (irrespective of my project)
I find it interesting that a system can grow from a collective consciousness - That it evolves from the continued use of a social group.
I would be interested to read material on the "system's consciousness" - i will look into what is written on this application of AI - like the human immune system or crowd simulation(i might be straying off the point here). I would like to know if there is a way to apply emotion to the assembly of a system. If it is a bi-product of the collective consciousness.

2. Why is it appropriate to your application? (using elements of existing themes within my design)
Emergence is appropriate to my (flimsy) design because I would like this "collective consciousness" to dictate the tendencies of the hotel booking system and room selection. I would like the system to evolve to the group's tendencies over time.

3. How might you use it in your application? (generate stronger social networks etc.)
The fact that the target market/ group that my application appeals to is iPhone users - already draws on a growing community between whom there is an already existing strong sense of social networking. Drawing from the example of Facebook for iPhone... the interconnectedness of the users already appears to be exclusive (yet global) and therefore, people will want to join. The information held in each personal handset is totally unique, and applicable to the wider community. Travel is becoming more accessible and the multi-function use of the iPhone is growing by the minute.
What I have to discern is what information will be tracked by the Experience in the hotel chain. What rules can the reservation process follow that could mimic say, a crowd simulation and which aspect of the phone would be best to apply to this?
Could emergence within my application be approached from an "emotional view point" - seen as "changes" that take place collectively in the mood/ temperament of the users?
I think i'm still missing the main point here.. but at least i have some questions... i'll think about this more.
